Drink Culture
Drink Culture (51 Kreya Ayer Road, Singapore) — Located on Kreta Ayer Road, it’s easy to miss Drink Culture. After all, the overwhelmingly white décor both inside and out pales in comparison to the seemingly loud Chinese food stalls and musically-challenged KTV pubs nearby. But once you’ve passed the Maseratis, Lamborghinis and the Ferraris parked nonchalantly outside, you realized that this pre-party joint is anything but distasteful.
Drink Culture prides itself for hosting a whole menu of customizable cocktails that’s made only with the freshest ingredients – leaving even the most cynic critics begging for more. A definite must sample is their house signature cocktail, the chocolate flambé martini. Imagine decadent chocolate desserts that have been melted into liquid form. And as you finally tip the glass to savor its contents; three words immediately come to mind. Pure rich ecstasy. But of course, if you prefer something less complicated to go with the bar’s canapés, premium champagnes and a wide selection of fine spirits are available as well.
Having said that, Drink Culture is a class act on its own. Designed by award-winning concept designer, Riston Foo, the bar is wholly Victorian-styled. The enveloping white scheme may seem intimidating at first, but with quirky details like hand-painted illustrations to the staff’s cute faux-tuxedo uniforms, tell us that under its cool interior, this place just wants to have fun.
