National Museum of Singapore

Museo Nacional de Singapur
National Museum of Singapore (93 Stamford Road, Singapore) – built in 1887, this renovated neo-classical building stands out as the architectural gem of Singapore’s museums. As the largest museum in the country, it acts as the custodian of Singapore’s 11 National Treasures, which includes the Singapore Stone (believe to date back to the 13th century, if not further back). Along with the remarkable historical-based galleries, look out for the four Living Galleries detailing culture through the prisms of fashion, photography, food, film and wayang (puppet theater). Open daily 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Admission: Adults ($10); Students & Seniors ($5). Free admission for children 6 years and under.
